Candidates appearing for Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) examinations have complained that the examination center is given away from their place of residence, due to which they have to travel long distances. In addition, additional money is also spent.
There is a great news for the candidates who are appearing in the railway examinations. Indian Railways has decided that it will use Google Maps to allot exam centers to candidates within a radius of 300 km from their place of residence. By doing this, along with saving the time of the candidates, their expenses will also come down.
Candidates had to cover long distance for the exam
Candidates appearing in RRB exams have been complaining that the exam center is given away from their homes. Because of this, they not only have to travel long distances, but also have to spend extra money on food and drink.
Such examination centers are being added to Google Map
According to a senior railway official, the pin code given by each candidate along with the address is being linked through Google Map with the examination center located within a radius of 300 km from their place of residence. Along with this, it is also being ensured that traffic is accessible to the center through various modes of transport like bus and train.
This process of railways will start on this date
This new process of railways will be implemented in level-6 and level 4 computer-based examination to be held on July 30. In this examination, examination will be held at 90 centers for 7,026 posts, in which about 60 thousand candidates will take part.
According to the Railways, at present, we have been able to provide 99 percent of the candidates with exam centers within a radius of 300 kilometres, while 100 percent women candidates have been accommodated in the exam centers within a radius of 400 kilometres.
Still many candidates complain
After the release of the list of examination centers for the final stage examination by RRB, most of the candidates took to Twitter to express their concern about the examination centers allotted to them away. A Twitter user from Kolkata said that she has been allotted the exam center in Karnataka, while a candidate from Bengaluru said that she has been allotted the exam center in Ranchi, 1,900 km away.
At the same time, officials say that candidates from North Eastern states are finding it difficult to accommodate within a radius of 300 km as there are only a few examination centers there.
