Traffic has come to a standstill in Meghalaya, Assam and many north-eastern areas due to heavy rains, floods and landslides. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the coming days, due to which a decision has been taken to close all the schools with immediate effect.

First the corona virus epidemic (covid-19) then now bad weather is becoming a hindrance in the studies of the students. Many states are in bad condition due to the onset of monsoon, due to which the decision is being taken to close the schools again. Meghalaya and adjoining areas will remain closed from today, June 17, 2022, amid inclement weather conditions. According to the official circular, it has been decided to keep the schools closed till June 20, 2022.

Actually, the weather has been bad in Meghalaya, Assam and many north-eastern areas. Situations like heavy rains, waterlogging, floods and landslides have posed a big challenge to the people living in these areas. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the coming day, keeping in mind that schools in Meghalaya were closed from June 17 to 20, 2022. The same has been done for the safety of all and people have been advised not to go out unless it is absolutely necessary.

In an official order to close schools in Meghalaya, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Met Center Shielding has spoken of the possibility of heavy rain for the next five days. Due to which all the schools in the state and adjoining areas will remain closed from June 17 to June 20, 2022. The Deputy Commissioner has advised the officials to keep assessing and checking the security before reopening the schools in their respective districts.
