The principal of the government school said that 500 meters of wiring has to be done in the school and whatever wire has been laid does not last more than six months, which leads to ‘earthing’ and the safety of the children remains. He said that one has to wander from door to door to remove the basic facilities.
Considering the condition of government schools, many mothers-to-be enroll their child in private schools. But what about those poor families who send their children to better future by financial constraints or relying on government schools. Regarding this issue, the dam of patience of the government school principal broke in the gram sabha. The principal not only enumerated the poor condition of the school but also mentioned the neglect of the Block Development Officer (BDO), an officer capable of improving it.
The principal said, ‘I am constantly mentioning this in the meetings of the gram sabha. We need building, bathroom, compound and ground. Parents also want to send their children to a school with a good building. He said, “Students up to class 8 are studying in this school which means they will be up to 13 years old and they should play well, which will help in their development and keep them free from diseases,” he said. But unfortunately there is no such thing in our schools. While stating this, the principal’s anger erupted, whose video is also going viral on social media.
Shakti (Principal) said that 500 meters of wiring is to be done in the school and whatever wire has been laid does not last more than six months which leads to ‘earthing’ and the safety of the children remains. Where he said, ‘I went to the BDO office and gave a letter but they said that it will take 25,000 to 30,000 rupees, it cannot be done. He asked me to spend by myself to finish the work. Are we taking commission for our work? He told that we have cut off the power. We cannot use motor pump.
The incident is shocking as Tamil Nadu CM Stalin along with several other beneficiary schemes have funded providing breakfast to children to encourage them to attend schools. While the Tamil Nadu government is promoting such welfare schemes with advertisements, a video of a school principal in pain over neglecting basic amenities is now going viral.
